Asking to Give - kind words

     The blog for the next 40 days is based on one chapter of a book called ‘Christ’s Object Lessons’, the chapter is just 41 chapters long, so a reading a day will enable us to complete in 40 days. The chapter we are using is 'Asking to Give'

     You will read the paragraph for yourself, perhaps read here and then contact your friend and prayer partner for prayer. During your prayer time you will have a few moments talking about the passage and then pray about what is needful for that morning. You will mention the person you want to introduce to Jesus and you will ask the Holy Spirit into your lives.

     The passage we are looking at today is on page 139 of the book. The element that stands out is that Jesus received a daily baptism of the Holy Spirit. Even He needed that very special blessing.

     I love what is then described. As a result of this fresh filling with the Holy Spirit Jesus was equipped with words in season that He might speak to the weary and oppressed.

     What kind of words could we be given? Harsh words on the lines of, “stop being a lazy sinner?”;”I’m better than you” or words that will heal the broken-hearted?

     As Jesus has the mission to heal up the sick and bind up wounds I get the feeling that the words He used were of the encouraging sort.

     Perhaps you could deliberately practice those words as you pray with your prayer partner? You can use words that will lift him or her up with fresh new confidence for the day ahead – and then perhaps use those same kind of words with all the people you meet.

     Start as you mean to begin, invite the Holy Spirit to fill your life anew today.
