My Whole Life

I was born to reflect the image of a God who is powerful enough to create my universe, attentive enough to hear my prayers and loving enough to be defined by self-sacrifice. I find my greatest fulfillment on a journey toward purpose and wholeness.

Our Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventist beliefs are meant to permeate your whole life. Growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God, you are invited to explore, experience and know the One who desires to make us whole.

"The child Jesus did not receive instruction in the synagogue schools. His mother was His first human teacher. From her lips and from the scrolls of the prophets, He learned of heavenly things. The very words which He Himself had spoken to Moses for Israel He was now taught at His mother's knee. As He advanced from childhood to youth, He did not seek the schools of the rabbis. He needed not the education to be obtained from such sources; for God was His instructor. "

The reading above is one you have seen before but takes us back to a suitable point to take on a particular prayerful journey. A friend of mine reminded me of the practical nature of what we are doing. We aren’t just reading with a view to getting through Desire of Ages as slowly as we can. At the moment we want to look at how we can create the best possible environment for the growth of our children.

Mother of course was His first teacher, but God, using Mary, was His instructor. We have to guess, from the above passage, that Mary prayed for her first born son.

My friend has asked me to ask you to pray for your children. In fact, my friend wants you to pray with her. The website for you to have a look at is entitled, ‘Praying for our children’. The basic idea is to pray for your children on the first Tuesday of each month, in the United Kingdom we would pray from 6:00pm until 6:30pm. There is the suggestion that it would be good to meet in groups. How about trying to gather a group in your church to pray for your children?  What will you pray for? I will give a reminder about prayer just before the first Tuesday in the month.
