“Let the glorious conceptions of God possess your mind. Let your life be knit by hidden links to the life of Jesus. He who commanded the light to shine out of darkness is willing to shine in your heart, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will take the things of God and show them unto you, conveying them as a living power into the obedient heart. Christ will lead you to the threshold of the Infinite. You may behold the glory beyond the veil, and reveal to men the sufficiency of Him who ever liveth to make intercession for us.”

Tomorrow we start our journey through the Desire of Ages. Our progress will be slow as we will advance one paragraph at a time. I see that as a very appropriate image to express our progress as Christians. How does our passage for today go?

“Let the glorious conceptions of God possess your mind. Let your life be knit by hidden links to the life of Jesus”.

We are not talking about an instant change, nor are we discussing a life based on a single experience with God. We are to ask that God fills us each day and in doing so change us.

I do like the object of this change as described above,

“You may behold the glory beyond the veil, and reveal to men the sufficiency of Him who ever liveth to make intercession for us.”

Our times together with God are to give us a picture of the character of God that will not only transform us but will also be something that other people will see and say,

“You mean Jesus can intercede even for me? I want some of that.”
